This will be the first EU study focusing on quality in the context of 3D digitisation projects. Its main objective is to map parameters, formats, standards, benchmarks, methodologies and guidelines relating to the 3D digitisation of immovable and movable tangible cultural heritage assets, considering the different potential uses, general-purpose visualisations and degree of complexity. The results of the study are intended to benefit not only the research sector but also to provide all stakeholders, from policy makers to small museum directors interested in digitising cultural heritage objects, monuments and sites with detailed and easy-to-read guidelines.

The study will be carried out by a highly qualified team of in-house specialists employed at the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory and the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), supported by key external multidisciplinary experts, international organisations, centres of excellence, national organisations, museums, SMES and research infrastructures including the ICOMOS/CIPA, Historic Environment Scotland, ArcTron3D GmbH and Z+F GmbH, the national Technical University of Athens and the Aristoteles University in Greece, the Time Machine NGO, the University of Milan and the SME Bene Construere in Croatia.

The consortium will organise a series of events and workshops and will present the preliminary results of the study in prestigious venues such as Euromed-2020.
